Next year's outlook

Post by Dodgers »

Had some free time, so decided to see what I'm looking at next year (Stats are MLB unless indicated).

C - Chris Iannetta - 274/371/507, 7 hr in 146 ab, 18 bb, 42 k
1B - Lyle Overbay - 264/370/393, 6 hr in 280 ab, 48 bb, 61 k
2B - Kelly Johnson - 280/357/444, 7 hr in 286 ab, 35 bb, 57 k
SS - Jimmy Rollins - 275/341/450, 6 hr in 250 ab, 24 bb, 24 k, 19 sb
3B - Mark Reynolds - 258/340/502, 17 hr in 283 ab, 35 bb, 100 k
LF - Gabe Kapler - 306/347/500, 5 hr in 134 ab, 8 bb, 22 k
CF - Torii Hunter - 271/326/444, 9 hr in 306 ab, 20 bb, 59 k
RF - Melky Cabrera - 246/311/352, 7 hr in 293 ab, 27 bb, 40 k

Definitely some weakness in the outfield. Prospect Austin Jackson could possibly provide some help there, though unlikely unless he moves to AAA soon.

SP - Ted Lilly - 4.56 in 18 starts, 100 k in 106.2 ip, 1.30 WHIP, .243 BAA
SP - Francisco Liriano - MLB - 11.32 in 3 starts - AAA 4.23 in 15 starts, 71 k in 84 ip, 1.25 WHIP, .251 BAA
SP - Josh Banks - 2.89 in 8 apps, 6 starts, 25 k in 43.2 ip, 1.19 WHIP, .258 BAA
SP - Jorge Campillo - 2.99 in 23 apps, 9 starts, 53 k in 72.1 ip, 1.09 WHIP, .243 BAA
SP - Brad Penny - 5.88 in 15 starts, 47 k in 85.2 ip, 1.60 WHIP, .304 BAA

Even scarier. Lilly has been on fire lately, but Penny and Liriano will need to pick up their returns from injury and Banks and Campillo will need to continue their surprising starts. It could be ugly many times out next year.

CL - Joakim Soria - 1.22 in 35 games, 23 saves, 41 k in 37.0 ip, 0.73 WHIP, .143 BAA
LH - Mitch Stetter - 2.45 in 19 games, 26 k in 18.1 ip, 1.31 WHIP, .161 BAA
LH - Jesse Carlson - 2.25 in 37 games, 30 k in 28 ip, 1.18 WHIP, .216 BAA
LH - Craig Breslow - 1.42 in 18 games, 18 k in 19 ip, 1.05 WHIP, .188 BAA
RH - Cory Wade - 2.45 in 26 games, 21 k in 33 ip, 1.00 WHIP, .230 BAA
RH - Juan Cruz - 3.23 in 36 games, 46 k in 30.2 ip, 1.37 WHIP, .184 BAA
RH - Tony Pena - 3.23 in 39 games, 29 k in 39 ip, 1.23 WHIP, .253 BAA
RH - Joe Nelson - 1.59 in 18 games, 18 k in 17 ip, 1.12 WHIP, .215 BAA
RH - Eric Gagne - 6.64 in 21 games, 19 k in 20.1 ip, 1.92 WHIP, .284 BAA
RH - Casey Weathers - AA - 2.51 in 32 games, 38 k in 32.1 ip, 1.24 WHIP, .183 BAA

The bullpen should be a major strength even if prospect Casey Weathers isn't ready to project well yet. A strong second half from Gagne could make the pen even stronger than it already appears to be. With the weak starting staff, these boys may be seeing a lot of action.

Nah I signed him a couple days after you released him, but in my defense I did have him for quite a long time before you got him.
