Lots of work to do still if we're going to be competitive in the ALC, but the lineup is much easier to look at with Oswalt added.

Lineup (2008 stats)

1. SS - Jose Reyes (SH) - .297/.358/.475, 16 HR, 56 SB
2. LF - Matt Holliday (RH) - .321/.409/.538, 25 HR, 28 SB
3. 2B - Chase Utley (LH) - .292/.380/.535, 33 HR, 14 SB
4. 1B - Miguel Cabrera (RH) - .292/.349/.537, 37 HR
5. DH - Prince Fielder (LH) - .276/.372/.507, 34 HR
6. C - Matt Wieters (SH) - .355/.454/.600, 27 HR
7. 3B - Alex Gordon (LH) - .260/.351/.432, 16 HR, 9 SB
8. CF - Chris Young (RH) - .248/.315/.443, 22 HR, 14 SB
9. RF - Jeremy Hermida (LH) - .250/.323/.406, 17 HR

3. Yovani Gallardo - 1.88 / 1.25 / 24.0
4. Chris Sampson - 4.22 / 1.20 / 117.1
5. Dan Giese - 3.53 / 1.22 / 43.1 & 1.98 / 0.97 / 59.0

6. Dallas Braden* - 4.14 / 1.42 / 71.2 & 2.36 / 1.12 / 53.1
7. Guillermo Moscoso - 2.70 / 0.93 / 86.2
8. Jorge de la Rosa* - 4.92 / 1.46 / 130 & 1.64 / 1.14 / 22.0
9. Vince Mazzaro - 2.74 / 1.22 / 171.0

Bullpen

Leo Nunez - 2.98 / 1.24 / 48.1

Italics: numbers in minor leagues

The bench and pen currently largely consist of AAA players and are very much under construction.

If things don't change (and they probably will), we may account for some suck with platoons/specialists. As of now we could go with platoons in CF/RF:

CF
vs LHP: Chris Young .285/.361/.525
vs RHP: Mark Kotsay .288/.345/.432

Young would be a defensive sub in close games that he doesn't start or otherwise enter.

RF
vs LHP: Jason Repko .356/.441/.627 (in AAA, MLE is: .266/.356/.469 )
vs RHP: Cliff Floyd .275/.353/.466

Similarly, Repko would be a frequent defensive sub, as might Hermida if he can stick on the roster. Floyd may retire, and if so I'll ideally be looking for someone like this to replace him.
