Only one remains on my team (and LaRoche is certainly not "core"). I generally like my modern (and far younger) core better than mine of several years ago.

1) Eric Hosmer
2) Madison Bumgarner

Well, things certainly have changed a bit...for the better, I would like to think.

Ramirez is the big riser and Bourn takes the biggest tumble in 2013. Utley departed and Gordon and Polanco have joined the club:

1. Yu Darvish

3. Hanley Ramirez
4. Jurickson Profar
5. Greg Polanco
6. James Shields
7. Prince Fielder
8. Matt Wieters

4. JJ Hardy
5. Brandon McCarthy
6. Kung Fu Panda
7. Corey Kluber (Corey Kluber Admiration Society Chapter 44 here)

1. Mike Stanton
2. Buster Posey
3. Shaun Marcum
4. Brandon McCarthy
5. JJ Hardy
6. Xander Bogaerts
7. Huston Street
8. Alejandro de Aza (i buy the breakout)

10. Jason Giambi (fan pick, really hurts that Dunn isn't in the top 5)
Doing this again

1. Buster Posey
2. Buster Posey
3. Buster Posey

OK serious list

1. Buster Posey

Not Ranked - I only have one guy left:
Bradley Milton RF
Drew J.D. RF
Dunn Adam LF
Jones Chipper 3B
Jurrjens Jair SP
Litsch Jesse SP
Marson Lou C
Masterson Justin SP
Saunders Joe SP

Well while I still technically have Chipper Jones on the roster, I'm 0/10 on the list above.

Re-done:

Beltran, Carlos
Cain, Matt
Davis, Chris
Dickey, R.A.
Fister, Doug
Gardner, Brett
Kimbrel, Craig
McDonald, James (Bill James & FanGraphs both like him for next year - http://www.fangraphs.com/fantasy/index. ... ses-steam/ - I do too)

So this is slightly...or completely...different...

What the hell was this guy thinking? How come I wasn't left Braun, Moustakas or Jennings? Ugh.

I've done a pretty good job turning the roster over, hopefully for the best. Good news -- Conor Jackson is no longer #3.

Well, not surprisingly, not many of these guys remain. Lots of trades and a concerted effort to improve pitching and get younger. This is how it stands now:

Paul Goldschmidt
Jason Heyward
Desmond Jennings
Ian Desmond
Cole Hamels
Jon Lester

Honorable Mention:
Kyle Hendricks, Mark Trumbo, Danny Santana, Jonathan Schoop, Derek Norris

1. David Dahl
2. Michael Pineda
3. Trevor Bauer
4. Josh Harrison
5. J.D. Martinez
6. #3
7. Dellin Betances
8. Daniel Robertson
9. Kohl Stewart
10. Stephen Piscotty

Still young, but the ceilings remain huge, and the floors are now very strong. #3 will be either Rodon, Tomas, Castillo, or Schwarber...so #6 seems like solid placement.

Stanton
Goldschmidt
Lester
Cobb/Wood
Beltre
Altuve
Gomes
Seager
Appel
Pujols

Desmond and Sanchez, previous core members, were shipped off to get Stanton, so that's ok. Wood/Cobb should be #2/3 for quite a while, while Beltre/Pujols' shelf life is limited. Seager/Appel will step in soon enough. Gomes has stepped up big, as has Altuve. While Alfaro has been moved, Seager/Appel remain a big part of the Tigers' future. Excited to see what the likes of Choice, Travis, Ross, Suarez, McKinney, Coulter and others can do as they continue to develop.

We definitely need some of these players to find their previous form in 2015. Some promising young pitching in Corbin/Hutch/Hahn/Miller. Need solid 2015 MLB seasons from Votto/Bruce/Choo. 3B and CF are particular areas of need.

Save for Pence, this is still a young core. Lots of dynamic arms on this list (and off it) and positional balance. Still need to translate some gaudy AAA numbers into reality, but I'm confident that can/will happen.
