You can't educate people that don't want to learn.

Come on guys....that's the "internet ghetto" language.

Give it another few years and the NAACP will be applying to have it recognized as a formal language of the world.

You know what blows my mind? Ever watch those old Civil War documentaries (I know Aaron doesn't because they don't acknowledge the South winning the war but anyone else)? They read letters from these soldiers who by and large had about a third grade education, and listen to the writing. Then compare it with your average college educated American. Scary.

That actually used to be a part of Greg Giraldo's standup bit Jake, comparing a letter from a Civil War soldier to a letter from someone from Brooklyn serving in Iraq today. You also have to look at it that the art of letter writing is dead. That was the primary form of communication with friends and relatives that lived far away. Once the telephone came along, there was no need for writing letters anymore. You can say with the spoken word a lot more easily what you're trying to get across than you can with the written word. You also have to remember that flowery, flowing language was common in the antebellum South amongst the middle and upper classes.

Jake, we didn't win the war because of manners. The Army of Northern Virginia wore itself out from whipping Yankees from 1861-1865. When Lee met Grant at Appomattox, he handed him his sword for Grant to polish it. Grant thought he was surrendering and Lee didn't want to embarass him in front of the highest ranking officers of both armies and just went along with it

Bear in mind they're also not going to use letters that sound like they were written by someone with a third grade education.
