First up, Travis d'Arnaud:

2. Travis d’Arnaud, c

Born: Feb. 10, 1989. B-T : R-R. Ht.: 6-2. Wt.: 195.

Travis d'Arnaud

Drafted: HS—Lakewood, Calif., 2007 (1st round supplemental).

Signed by: Tim Kissner (Phillies).

Background: D’Arnaud has twice been included in December trades for Cy Young Award winners. He went from the Phillies to the Blue Jays for Roy Halladay in 2009, and then to the Mets for R.A. Dickey in 2012. D’Arnaud spent much of the first half of 2013 on the disabled list after taking a foul ball off his left foot on April 17 and breaking a bone.

Scouting Report: D’Arnaud’s offensive potential made him an attractive trade target, but he’s a strong fundamental catcher with average to plus tools across the board. Pitchers trust him because he frames and blocks pitches with aplomb. He used solid-average arm strength to gun down 11 of 23 basestealers in an abbreviated minor league season and five of 24 in the big leagues. D’Arnaud’s short, powerful stroke should translate in the big leagues. Good feel for the barrel and a willingness to use the middle of the field should allow him to hit for average, too.

The Future: D’Arnaud is the organization’s catcher of the future, and barring a significant offseason move, nobody stands in his way for the starting job in 2014.

Cesar Puello SHOULD have made the Mets Top 10, but because of Biogenesis (which happened in 2012), BA is giving him the shaft even though his 2013 improvements were largely in plate discipline. He's got the tools and he's finally shown the production with a .326/.403/.547 line at AA as a 22yr old.

He hasn't been drafted yet, but he's already getting sized for uniforms, so here's Kris Bryant.
2. Kris Bryant, 3b

Born: Jan. 4, 1992. B-T: R-R. Ht.: 6-5.
Wt.: 215. Drafted: San Diego, 2013 (1st round). Signed by: Alex Lontayo.

Background: Bryant was an 18th-round pick out of Las Vegas’s Bonanza High in 2010 but attended San Diego instead. After hitting 23 home runs in his first two seasons, Bryant was the College Player of the Year as a junior, leading the nation in home runs (31), walks, total bases and slugging percentage. The Cubs drafted him No. 2 overall, and he got the largest signing bonus in franchise history and in the 2013 draft, $6,708,400.

Scouting Report: Tall, lean and athletic, Bryant has all-star tools. He adjusted as a junior by spreading out in the batter’s box, lowering his head and eliminating his pre-swing movement. He can still get a bit uphill with his swing but now punishes the low ball. He has the leverage and loft in his swing to produce 40 homers annually while being an above-average hitter. Bryant’s easy arm strength fits well at third base, and he has solid infield actions, but he’s tall for the position and some scouts consider him a better fit for right field. He played some right and even center field in college thanks to his average speed and long strides.

The Future: Bryant’s torrid Arizona Fall League tour indicates he is on the fast track to Wrigley Field. If he moves quickly, he likely will shift to an outfield corner.
