Is this on? Yes? Good.
The San Diego Padres have decided that since we have a lot of third basemen, and need some outfielders, that we would work out an arrangement with another team and exchange contractual rights to those players. We're calling this transaction a "Trade".

Nationals get:
Will Middlebrooks
Padres Draft Pick 4

Padres get:
Jorge 9-Bonifacio
Pirates Draft Pick 1

Will has been a fine player and represents a lot of talent, but he just wasn't going to crack it behind Manny Machado and Miguel Sano. We wish him well in D.C.
We'd like to welcome now Jorge Bonifacio to the Padres organization. Jorge may not be the type of player who will make an All-Star team, but he hit well in H-A and AA this season as a 20 yr old and his power is still developing. We welcome him to the organization and look forward to welcoming the pending first round draft pick as well.

After our recent "Trade" innovation, we decided to do it again, completing another "Trade" with the Boston Red Sox.

Red Sox receive:
Padres Draft Pick 2
Padres Draft Pick 5

Padres receive
James 10-Nelson
Andrew 12-Toles
Twins Draft Pick 5

James Nelson: A talented 24yo with a solid arsenal, Nelson occasionally fights with his delivery and struggles with walks. When he has it together, he's a #2/3 starter, if thigns fall apart, he could end up in the bullpen.

Andrew Toles: Toles is a toolsy, raw CFer who has the potential to be a dangerous player in the field and on the basepaths. He needs some work on his plate discipline and has had attitude issues in the past, though the latter is hopefully well in the rearview mirror.
